Whilst we enjoyed showing our two boys, it was only at open shows at first with the odd outing to championship shows, but with a move of job and home to Grantham we bought our first ‘real ‘show dog from Graham and Christine Parsell. He was Harlextan the Rifleman (Magnum) He was by Ch.Kharisar Kharibh Khan out of Harlextan the Priestess.
Magnum had quite a successful show career gaining his junior warrant and later 1 CC with B.O.B. at Birmingham Afghans first Championship Show in 1985.
He went on to win his way through to the Pedigree Chum Veteran Stakes Final in1981 and was the first non champion afghan dog to achieve this. In 1988 we got our first bitch, Ch Harlextan Mad Masala (Maddie) who won 4 CC’s and 1 RCC.
